  Dr. Guerske-dePerio is a gem! After seeing another surgeon that wanted to jump straight to surgery without even doing an MRI first, Dr. G told me exactly why she disagreed with the first opinion based on my symptoms, what likely had caused my injury in the first place and why it was progressively getting worse despite a clean prior MRI and xrays. She took a new MRI and sure enough I had fluid galore which she said indicated a tear she thought was the tendon along my ankle bone due to being unable to see it on the MRI. Also, the tear the first surgeon said I surely had was nowhere on the MRI! I elected to do surgery to clear the fluid and scar tissue and check for a tear where she said-- having already tried almost a year of PT to no avail. She was right. Not one but 2 tendon tears--one likely dating back to high school, the second more recent. She is phenomenal. Surgery went amazing, everything as expected and she did great. No nerve damage whatsoever even though she had to work right along a major nerve. Would recommend her to anyone! Her bedside manner is great too. Great surgeon!
